With hundreds of kilometres of trails to explore on foot or on bicycle, you’ll never run out of adventures around Halcyon. Whether you’re up for a short walk to a grove of ancient cedar trees; a pedal alongside the cool, clear waters of Kuskanax Creek; or a mountain climb up the Silvercup Ridge Trail, the incredible wilderness around Halcyon offers plenty of opportunities for exploration. With two national parks in its back yard, and dozens of adrenaline-pumping mountain bike trails, Revelstoke also offers a wide array of hiking and bicycling opportunities that are just a short trip from Halcyon.

Whether it’s Kokanee Salmon, Gerrard Trout, Dolly Varden, or one of the other mighty fish that inhabit the Arrow Lakes and surrounding waters, Halcyon presents plenty of opportunities for incredible fishing. You can simply head to our beach and throw in your line, or find an experienced local licensed fishing guide like Brad Stubbs of Kootenay Kingfisher to help you land a big one and have a whole lot of fun in the process!
With seemingly endless trails and logging roads surrounding us, the Halcyon area is a prime destination for heading out on your ATV or dirt bike. The Arrow Lakes ATV Club and the Revelstoke ATV Club maintain trail networks, and also organize events like group rides, power runs and camp outs.
If you’re looking for a dramatic day on the links, you’ll find plenty of opportunities surrounding Halcyon. You can challenge your skills and take in some amazing mountain scenery with an 18-hole round at the Revelstoke Golf Club or play the at The Woodchuck, the new 9 Hole Disc Golf Course. Or if you’re looking for something a bit more laid back, try nine holes of casual, Kootenay-style golf at the Nakusp Centennial Golf Club or the Fauquier and District Golf Club, located just outside Nakusp.
Take to the back of a trusty steed and head out with an experienced guide to explore the wilderness around the Arrow Lakes. Located just outside Nakusp, Charlie Horse Shoeing and Equine Adventures offers trail rides that cater to all types of riders. From short to long, and beginner to advanced, there’s something for everyone.
For a thrilling day trip filled with incredible scenery, try one of the world-class whitewater rafting experiences located just a short drive from Halcyon. Revelstoke’s Apex Rafting offers a 22-kilometre float down the scenic Illecillewaet River with a whopping 20 sets of rapids along the way. And in Meadow Creek, Lardeau River Adventures offers both an exciting and scenic trip down the Upper Lardeau River, and scenic family floats on the calmer Lower Lardeau River.
